The Mars Ambassador Program (MAP) gives Mars employees the opportunity to show their personal commitment to making a difference to people and the planet.
In 2008, Marketing Manager Annette Aitkenhead participated in a MAP pilot in Ghana focusing on reducing acute malnutrition and waterborne illness. During the five-week program, she helped a community install backyard gardens and plant a variety of fruits and vegetables to improve nutrition in the community. Annette also left her mark on the community using her marketing skills to create a model called the "healthy eating tripod", featuring the recommended daily intake of grains, protein, fruits and vegetables.

In 2009, two Belgian employees participated to the MAP.The first one, Dimitri Van Loock, Field Manager Petcare and Food, participated to a group programme of one week in New Jersey (USA) with the organisation Terracycle which recycle packagings and transform them into new goods. The second one, Jochen Luypaert, Financial Controller, has been selected to participate to an individual program of five weeks in Ghana in order to help cocoa farmers communities to develop micro-credit systems to improve their finances and investments.

In 2010, four more Belgian candidates get the chance to live and share this fantastic experience in the UK, the USA, Vietnam and Ecuador.
And in 2011, four others Belgian Ambassadors were travelling to USA, South-Africa and Brazil.
